Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong on Thursday issued a notice in connection with the 12th General Elections to Manipur Legislative Assembly 2022 that all polling agents and counting agents of all contesting candidates will be allowed to enter polling station and counting hall on the production of certificate of double dose of Covid-19 vaccination.
In case they are not vaccinated or single dose vaccinated, an RT-PCR negative report from an authorized laboratory taken within 72 hours from the start of polling or counting is required, the notice also added.
Meanwhile, a notice issued by the Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong District, officers said that officials assigned for election who didn’t attend the first round of training from 19 to 22 February,2022 and second round of training the 19th and 21st February 2022 will be directed to show cause notice and explanation call.
Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong Hungyo Worshang further warned those absentees stringent necessary action including even suspension of services in case of non-response of the show cause. If they still continue repeated absence and callous negligence of election duty, then strict action shall be taken ex-parte against them, the notice also added.
Polling personnel who were absent during the second round of training have to furnish explanation to the showcause notice on or before the 24th February 2022.The DLOs concerned shall be responsible for the reply of their respective staff on time.
The first round of training was held from 19/01/2022 to 22/01/2022. Whereas, the second round of training cum sensitization for polling personnel was held on the 19th and 21st of this month.
