Cordon and Search Operation continues at various part of the state

Imphal, August 11: In the run up to the forthcoming Independence Day, Manipur police teams conducted cordon and search operation still continued at various part of the state today. Thoubal CDO including Women Police Constables led by team of Deputy SP (OPS) Soibam Sashidananda, Deputy SP (CDO) Y Premjit and Subedhar Daulat Khan conducted cordon and search operation at Charangpat Mayai Leikai in Thoubal District early in the morning where 182 men and 93 women were verified but no arrest were made. Meanwhile, Imphal East District Police team along with Heingang Police conducted cordon and search operation at Kairang road Chingtham Colony from 4:30 am to 6 am today, under the supervision of Additional SP (OPS) M Kumarjit Singh. Altogether 349 persons were verified during the search operation and 12 persons including four women were pick up and taken to Heingang Police Station for further verification. A team of Imphal West CDO under the supervision of Additional SP (OPS) N Madhunimai conducted cordon and search operation at Patsoi Part 2 from 5 am to 6:30 am. However there were no reports of any arrest during the operation. In another cordon and search operation conducted at Bishnupur bazar ward no. 4 from 5 am to 6 am by Bishnupur district police team comprising SDPO/BPR, Deputy SP (CDO), Deputy SP (OPS), OC CDO and a team of Bishnupur Police Station with Women Police, altogether 250 persons were verified where 3 persons were detained and later handed over to Bishnupur Police Station for further verification.
