CORCOM greets people on 11th Foundation Day; recounts India’s suppressive activities, says UN should acknowledged

Joint body of armed rebel groups operating in the region, CORCOM today greets the people of the region in connection with 11th Foundation Day which falls on July 8. The joint body of the armed rebel group also recounted on how the Indian regime is using various warfare to suppress the armed revolutionary movement of the WESEA region and said that it is time for the International Community and the United Nation to acknowledge the suppressive activities and the conflict as per the Geneva Convention, 1949.
Reiterating the history of the erstwhile Manipur (KangleipaK), the CORCOM statement said that even during British colonial era, the independent character of the then Nation could not be distorted. It said that even after the Britishers brought legislation to divide the Hill and plain people in 1907 under their administration, they never succeeded in distorting the relationships of the market economy, sense of oneness and the essence of freedom. That was the reason for standing together for safeguarding the freedom of the erstwhile nation in 1891 leaving aside the barriers of communities.
CORCOM statement said that Manipur (Kangleipak) was restored its Independence on the adjoining night of August 14 and 15, 1947, but before the people could celebrate She felt in the claw of India in 1949. Since then the self-reliant economy of the people have been converted into captive market to make the people dependent to India.
The statement further said that India could not complete its occupation to WESEA with its culture, religion, economy and administration. It was than the oppressor regular army was deployed among the civilians and as a result the people of both hill and plain are still bearing the pain of the war.
The CORCOM said that the ancestorial land of the region has been often compromise for appeasing neigbouring countries. In its counter politics to suppress the freedom movement in the region the continuous cultural invasion taking place has given great impact to the region. It was at this point that the UNESCO after acknowledging the situation has warned that Manipuri Language is in the verge of extinction.
The CORCOM also recounted the various technic and strategy of India which they use to occupy the WESEA region stating that since 1991 the revolutionary movement had started facing impact. It mentioned on how the Look East Policy then Act East Asia Policy in the name of improving the WESEA economy has given impact to the armed freedom movement.
The statement said that the extradition treaty signed by India with Bangladesh and Thailand in 2013 was to suppress the National movement of the region. It also said that India has been instigating the ASEAN under India Plan of Action in 2015 to act against the national movement of the region. It further stated that the 1643 International Boundary between India and Myanmar has been using as transit by the Indian.
Behind the scene of the Look East policy, India has been providing T-55 tanks and BN-2 Islander maritime surveillance and deck-based air-defence gun etc. to neighbouring country. In the BIMSTEC too India has been misleading the national movement of the WESEA region.
The CORCOM also elaborated the issues of drugs being face in the region. The armed group compared that drug issue in the region as that of the “Opium War” of 1841 in China by the British. The CORCOM said that over 7000 acre of land in Manipur has been used for opium plantation. The armed group said this issue as a tool for suppressing the national movement of the region.
