CorCom condemn Narendra Modi’s visit to Manipur; calls 24 hours curfew on Nov 30

CorCom, a conglomerate of 6 different rebel groups of the region today called 24 hours curfew on the day where Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Manipur. In a press released, the conglomerate said that the visit of Narendra Modi is an ill fortune for the people of the region. It condemned the visit saying that the Indian regime has been suppressing the people of the region by enforcing various draconian laws. The statement said that during the 9th East Asia Summit held at Nay Pyi Taw in Myanmar from Novemebr 12 to 13, Narendra Modi has stated that in a world of Inter-dependence and globalization, there is no option but to follow international laws and norms, for this reason, following international law and norms is important. However in the contrary to what he had talk various draconian laws including the AFSPA had been imposing in the region to colonized the people. It said that the marathon struggle for repeal of the act by Iron lady Irom Chanu Sharmila has been ignored. On the other hand the statement also recalled the joint statement of NSCN-IM and the Government of India which said that the cease fire agreement between the groups is without territorial limit, which has led to the mass uprising on June 18 of 2001 resulting the dead of many precious soul of the state. CorCom said that they will fight either politically or militarily to any attempt for distorting the unity of the state.
