Two days after one of the major armed rebel groups operating in Manipur had signed a peace agreement with the Government of India in New Delhi, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh who returned today from New Delhi said that the content of the agreement signed between the rebel group and the government is confidential for now.
The Chief Minister was in the capital New Delhi when the representatives of the armed rebel group and the government of India signed the peace deal on November 29. N. Biren Singh who returned today while talking to reporters at Imphal airport said that after over 60 years Manipur has succeeded in marching towards peace.
“I thank the people of Manipur, all the cadres of the armed rebel group for the decision and support in moving forward towards peace”, CM Biren said adding that it is the initiative of the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister who make things possible.
