Alfred Kanngam Arthur, the Congress party’s candidate for the Outer Manipur constituency, alongside key party figures including T. Manga Vaiphei and Pu Lalnghet Hmar, embarked on a significant visit to Churachandpur today.
The visit saw Alfred Kanngam Arthur, accompanied by T. Manga Vaiphei, the Star Campaigner and Working President of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, and Pu Lalnghet Hmar, President of Churachandpur DCC, engage in crucial meetings with leaders of prominent organizations such as the Zomi Council, Kuki Inpi Manipur, and Indigenous Tribal Leader’s Forum.
Addressing a gathering of district and block level Congress workers, Alfred Kanngam Arthur passionately urged attendees to uphold their rights and never compromise on their due share as guaranteed by the Constitution of India. He emphasized the importance of unity in the fight for equitable shares across all sectors and pledged his sincere dedication to working for all segments of society.
Victor Keishing, the Working President of MPCC, echoed these sentiments, stressing the need to protect secularism in democracy and urging Congress workers to redouble their efforts in earning the trust of the people.
He also criticized the State Government for the prolonged crisis engulfing the state over the past 11 months.
The district and block level Congress workers Meeting, held at T. Manga Vaiphei’s residence on Red-Cross road, Lamka, was attended by a host of prominent figures including Alfred Kanngam Arthur, Victor Keishing, Mangkholien Gangte, Secretary-MPCC, and Mangchinkhup, Member-MPCC, along with workers from various districts and blocks.
Additionally, Alfred Kanngam Arthur, accompanied by party members, visited the KKL Relief camp at Sangai University, Kaparang, where he interacted with camp inmates and listened to their grievances, underlining the party’s commitment to addressing the needs of the people.
