The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) is observing the completion of one year of the ongoing conflict in Manipur with a significant event held at Sumang Leela Sanglen, Palace Compound in Imphal East.
Under the banner of “365-Days of Chin-Kuki Narco-Terrorist Aggression in Manipur,” COCOMI’s commemorative event underscores a dedicated effort to highlight both the duration and the nature of the conflict. Notably, there’s a focused emphasis on the involvement of groups associated with narco-terrorism. Such events serve as crucial platforms to raise awareness, express solidarity, and underline the pressing need for resolution in conflict-stricken regions.
The observance of this one-year milestone in the ongoing crisis will see the presence of distinguished personalities. Among them are Somorendra Thokcham, Coordinator of COCOMI, Turner Raihing, President of TANFO & NPOKD, and Islam Makakcha, Advisor to the United Pangal Committee, who will grace the occasion as esteemed members.
Moreover, the event will host twelve resource persons, comprising luminaries such as Akoijam Seithajit, Retired Professor of Imphal College; RK Nimai, a Retired IAS Officer; Yumnamcha Dilipkumar, a Social Activist; Kangjam Maharabi; Dr. Chanabir Laishram; Y. Premanada, Head of the Department of Law at Manipur University; and Aribam Noutuneshwari, among others.
By convening key stakeholders and experts, this commemorative event not only amplifies awareness but also serves as a vital platform for fostering solidarity and dialogue. It underscores the collective resolve to address the ongoing crisis in Manipur, emphasizing the imperative of concerted efforts towards sustainable peace and stability in the region.
