Committee on Mass Grave at Tombisana High School (COMGAT) resolved to resume agitation as the state government failed to meet the demands put up by the committee.
Addressing a public meeting held today at Kwakeithel community hall, Phunindro Konsam, convenor, COMGAT said that the committee had given a dateline till 03rd Feb for the state government to fulfil their charter of demands. The demands are 1. To create an institution of a Special Commission of Inquiry to investigate the discovery of human skeletal remains from the former Tombisana High School compound. 2. To halt the ongoing construction of market at the former high school campus for a thorough investigation. 3. To meet the demands of Families of the Involuntarily Disappeared Association, Manipur (FIDAM) citing possibility of the skulls and skeletal remains being of those persons who disappeared after being apprehended by the security forces and 4. To repeal the draconian act AFSPA 1958 from the state. Since the government failed to meet the demands the committee is all set to resume various democratic forms of agitations.
