As part of security measures taken up ahead of the Republic Day Celebration, Imphal East and Imphal West Commandos conducted search operations at different areas of the state today morning at 4 am to 6 am.
Team of Imphal East Police led by Additional SP (OPS) P Manjit conducted search operation at Hatta Golapati area near Hatta Public Hospital. People between the ages of 15 to 50 years were verified. 4 persons who could not produce identity proof documents were detained at Porompat Police Station for further verification.
On the other hand, a search operation was also conducted at Lairikyengbam Leikai, Imphal West under the supervision of Additional SP Bikramjit. Around 250 people between the ages of 15 to 50 years were verified. So far none were detained from the area.
