Combing Operation conducted ahead of President’s visit

Imphal, Nov 3: As part of the security measure taken up ahead of the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind visits to Manipur during the Sangai Festival 2017, search and cordon operation was conducted at Singjamei Kha-Naorem Leikai this morning.
A team led by SDPO/Singjamei Police Station, Devananda; OC/Singjamei Police Station, Ingocha along with a team of CDO/IW and women police under the supervision of SP/IW conducted the search and cordon operation door to door in the surrounding area of Singjamei Kha-Naorem Leikai from 5 am to 7 am.
Altogether 600 persons including 250 women were verified in the operation where 30 persons who fails to provide proper identification proof were detained.
Later they were taken to Singjamei Police Station for further verification.
Indian President Ram Nath Kovind is visiting the state on November 21 to attend the biggest tourism festival of the state Manipur Sangai Festival, 2017.
