The College of Community Science, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Tura, celebrated its 21st Foundation Day at the District Auditorium, showcasing its progress and contributions to education, research, and extension activities that benefit the community.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Jyoti V. Vastrad, Dean of the College, followed by the lighting of the lamp and a prayer song. Distinguished guests, including Dr. Namita Singh, Ex-Dean In-charge, and Dr. Pushpita Das, Ex-Dean, were present for the occasion. In her address, Dr. Jyoti. V. Vastrad highlighted the growth of the institution and shared a brief overview of its key achievements.
Chief Guest Dr. Mamoni Das, Dean, College of Community Science, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, emphasized the importance of community science education and the role of institutional networking in advancing research and outreach. Guest of Honour, Dr. Raghavendra Kumar M.G., IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police (WR), Tura, addressed issues related to cybercrime, drug abuse, and crimes against women and children, highlighting the importance of safety and civil responsibility, while Tengchi Margarette G. Momin, MCS, ADC, Tura, spoke about the transformative power of education in empowering communities.
The event also recognized staff members were for their service and commitment, which has played a key role in the college’s success. In addition, Garo sports personalities were felicitated during a prize distribution ceremony, celebrating their achievements.
