COCOMI gears up for “Manipur Kanba Khongchat” rally on January 31

The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity has intensified preparations for the mass public rally titled “Manipur Kanba Khongchat,” scheduled to be held on Saturday, January 31.
Speaking to media persons at the COCOMI office in Lamphelpat today, Convenor YK Dhiren announced the detailed route of the rally and appealed for widespread public participation. He stated that the rally would commence at 10 a.m. from Kwakeithal Tiddim Ground and proceed along Tiddim Road to Keishampat Junction.
The procession will then move through Waheng Leikai Road, Nagamapan Road, Khuyathong Traffic Point and Thangmeiband Road before culminating at Thangmeiband THAU Ground. A public meeting will be held at the final venue, where leaders and representatives are expected to address the gathering.
YK Dhiren said the rally is being organized to convey the collective voice of the people on issues concerning the integrity and future of Manipur. He urged all sections of society, including civil society organisations, student bodies and community groups, to take part in the rally in large numbers.
The COCOMI convenor also appealed to organisations and establishments across the state to suspend their normal activities for the day as a mark of solidarity and to enable maximum public participation. He said the success of the rally would depend on the united involvement of people from all communities.
COCOMI leaders expressed confidence that the “Manipur Kanba Khongchat” would emerge as a significant platform for democratic expression, reflecting the aspirations and concerns of the people of Manipur.
