COCOMI condoles demise of senior journalist GA. Naocha Sharma

The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has expressed profound grief over the demise of senior journalist Guruaribam Naocha Sharma, a former General Secretary of the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU), who passed away after a prolonged illness.

In a condolence message, COCOMI described Sharma as a dedicated journalist who made significant contributions to the field of journalism and to the strengthening of democratic values through responsible reporting.

Born in 1969 at Keisamthong Hodam Leirak in Imphal, Guruaribam Naocha Sharma served as a reporter with Imphal Times and also worked as a correspondent for several national news organisations. He was actively involved in journalists’ welfare and organisational activities, serving on the AMWJU Standing Committee before being elected General Secretary of the union for the 2011–2013 term.

COCOMI said Guruaribam Naocha Sharma’s passing is a great loss to the media fraternity and society. It prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, sharing in their grief during this difficult time.
