CoBRA conducts search at KZC leader’s residence

Personnel of the CRPF’s Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) reportedly conducted a search operation at the residence of Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) Joint Secretary Douminlal Haokip in Bongphajol village, Kangpokpi district, during the early hours of July 12.

According to a statement issued by the KZC, the search was carried out at around 2:30 a.m. at Haokip’s residence. The council claimed that Haokip was not present during the operation as he was attending a meeting in Churachandpur.

The KZC alleged that the search was conducted without a warrant and urged the authorities to clarify the legal basis for the operation. It also called for an impartial inquiry into the incident.
