CM wrote to PM asking him to spell out the contents of Naga accord

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam today said that Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to spell out the contents of the Naga accord signed between Government of India and the NSCN-IM. Speaking to a group of media persons at Congress Bhavan today, Gaikhangam said that any sort of peace deal with any party or organisation is welcome by the government and the congress party. However, he said that if the solution of a one community affect others community and created multiple problem then it could not accepted. Gaikhangam also said that the government was not consulted or informed before the signing of the peace accord.
When reporters asked the stand of the government regarding the peace accord Gaikhangam said that it is too early to comment as the contents of the accord is not let known to the people.
Even though skeptical, Gaikhangam said that he did not believe the center to commit any kind of mistake that could spark chaos in the region. He also said that if the contents is good for all the parties and the country then it should be place to the public domain. “Keeping the contents in darkness make everyone apprehensive”, said Gaikhangam.
Gaikhangam further expressed surprised on why the government is not giving its statement regarding the accord to the ongoing parliament session. He said any event happen during the sitting of the parliament should be given statement to the floor of the parliament.
He further cautioned the central government if the contents hurt the sentiment of the people of the state.
