Government top priority is to make to Ukhrul as the Summer Capital of Manipur - CM Biren

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh visited Ukhrul district headquarter on Monday after four years and made a series of inauguration and laid foundation stones.
CM Biren on his speech stated that this is the first time in Ukhrul to have a Cabinet Sitting and that he is gratified to visit again after his last visit in 2019.
As a part of Economics package the CM announce a sum of 6 crores for water augmentation in Ukhrul today.
Ukhrul is a very important town next to Imphal so we are working for early augmentation of water with seriousness, CM said.
CM Biren further assured that setting up of Nursing College in Ukhrul will be given priority. Creation of SDC at Paoyee village under Chingai Sub-division, creation of Revenue Inspector under reservation of promotion and opening of police post at Tallui village are some of the decision taken during the cabinet meeting.
Soon after reaching Ukhrul Mini-Secretariat the visiting CM of Manipur was given a red carpet welcome by the Tangkhul frontal organisations, Ministers and MLAs and went straight to the conference hall for Cabinet meeting.
Right after the meeting the CM inaugurates 21 projects of varied developmental works which has been completed so far and laid a foundation stones of another 23 newly developmental works to be taken up in Ukhrul district.
Qr. Ram Muivah, Ukhrul MLA on his welcome speech openly proposed for making Ukhrul a summer capital of the state, upgrading Ukhrul town road and early completion of Imphal – Ukhrul NH- 102-A, Water scarcity problems, opening of Central Hill University, opening of Nursing schools in Ukhrul, electrifying 21 villages in the border village of Ukhrul and setting up of Integrated Check Post (ICP) in the border area of Ukhrul and Kamjong.
A Memorandum was also submitted by Tangkhul Frontal Organisations, Ex- ADC’s and headman of Hunphun/ Ukhrul and Talloi village.
During the CM visits he was accompanied by tem Cabinet Ministers and MLA’s.
The visiting CM also inaugurated Hao Heritage Centre at Awungtang, Hungpung after the public meeting.
The BJP-led government in Manipur headed by Chief Minister N Biren Singh has 12 council of Minister but in the cabinet meeting, two Kuki ministers — Nemcha Kipgen and Letpao Haokip skipped purportedly due to the ongoing communal violence that erupted on May 3.
