CM N. Biren inaugurates schemes, lays foundation stone and distributes benefits

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today attended inauguration, laying of Foundation Stone, Distribution of various schemes/ projects/ benefits of various departments under 100 days Action Points for first 100 days of the New Government at City Convention Centre today.
Addressing the function, the Chief Minister appreciated and lauded the people of the State for their trust in the government and said that the day is a very joyous occasion for the government as it has succeeded in turning its words into action.
Further appreciating the bureaucrats and security personnel for their commitment in supporting the government to realise its plans, policies, the Chief Minister said that there is still a lot more to achieve. He said because of their hardwork and sincerity, the government is able to achieve despite many obstacles.
The inauguration, laying of Foundation Stones and distribution of various schemes/ projects/ benefits today amounted to a total of Rs. 211 crore, the Chief Minister said adding that projects worth Rs. 176.72 crore were inaugurated, Rs. 3.28 crores worth benefits will be provided to beneficiaries, foundation stones were laid for projects worth Rs. 19 crore and training skilling were provided for Rs. 11.50 crores.
Asserting that the government delivers what it said, N. Biren Singh said that the government follows this commitment and at the same time has an efficient group of ministers who are fully committed in maintaining transparency, quality and meeting deadlines.
He continued at the end of 100-days, the government will announce the target for One-Year of government.
The government is able to achieve its target with the support and cooperation of the people, he said and further lauded the State Police, DGP, NAB, Intelligence, Assam Rifles for the success witnessed in War on Drugs 2.0 with the voluntary support of the public.
We are not against anyone, community or religion, he said, adding that we are only asking for all to be against poppy plantation, drug trafficking, and to encourage afforestation instead of deforestation, not to construct structures on river banks, Reserved Forest areas.
Stating that the government will continue with the eviction drive against illegal encroachers, he further warned all those who have added structures to government quarters, staying illegally or renting out government quarters and occupying government land both in the valley and hills.
Stating that the government will provide rehabilitation to people who genuinely have no other land of their own and affected by the process, the Chief Minister expressed the need for vertical expansion and that the government has started identifying land banks for construction of housing complexes on flat systems.
Under Veterinary and Animal Husbandry department, 25 Veterinary Hospitals and 58 dispensaries at different locations were virtually inaugurated. The Chief Minister also virtually laid the Foundation Stone for construction of two new Government IIT under Enhancing Skill Development Infrastructure (ESDI) at Noney and Pherzawl under the Labour Department and inaugurated four 2×5 MVA, 33/11 kV Sub-Station at Wangjing and Heirok in Thoubal District, Leimapokpam in Bishnupur District and Hiyangthang in Imphal West and Heingang in Imphal East.
Under the Social Welfare department, the Chief Minister distributed benefits to 16,000 beneficiaries under Manipur Old Age Pension (Eight beneficiaries in function) and to 10,000 beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s Widow Pension Scheme (beneficiaries in the function).
N. Biren Singh also inaugurated Fish Hatcheries under Blue Revolution at Nambol, Re-circulatory Aquaculture System at Imphal West and distributed Water & Soil Testing Kits to 50 fish farmers (10 beneficiaries in the function) under the Fisheries department. Under the Tourism department, a Start Course on Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition will be started and also launched Tourism policy and Tourism calendar.
The Chief Minister further inaugurated 15 PMGSY Roads at Blocks by BDOs under Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, 475 Wells under PMKSY, HKKP GW under Minor Irrigation and Establishment of Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy under Manipur Technical University and 50 schools under School Fagathansi under Education Department.
Under the DP and AR, Integrated Training framework and Calendar was also launched, IT Sector Skill Development programme was launched under Information Technology. Industry Inked Training in the IT/ITES sector for 2000 trainees was also started.
The Chief Minister also distributed Tablets to teachers under Star Education programme and tablets to students under State Wide Integrated Education management System and Digital Learning Platform.
Further the Chief Minister also flagged off 120 students for industry linked training in IT/ITES Sector at Guwahati.
A short film on the achievement of the “War on Drugs” produced by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations was also shown as part of the function. Departments also showed short films highlighting their achievements during the function.
Today’s function was also attended by Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Dr. R.K. Ranjan, Ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar, DGP P Doungel, senior officials, police officers, beneficiaries of schemes, among others.
