Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today met a delegation of the Meitei Union Kangpokpi District, Manipur (MUKDM), along with families affected by the ongoing ethnic unrest, at the State Secretariat.
The delegation, led by Laishom Hemanta, Moirangthem Joy and Hirom Ningthem, urged the government to expedite relief and rehabilitation measures for displaced families from Kangpokpi district who continue to face hardships due to the prolonged conflict.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister heard the grievances and concerns raised by the delegation and assured them that the government would give due consideration to their demands.
Khemchand reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of families affected by the unrest and ensuring that appropriate support reaches those requiring assistance.
“The concerns of the affected families will be addressed with due consideration,” the Chief Minister said.
He further stated that the state government remains committed to the welfare, relief and rehabilitation of all conflict-affected families and is continuing its efforts to restore normalcy and improve the living conditions of displaced persons across Manipur.
The meeting forms part of the government’s ongoing initiatives to address humanitarian issues arising from the ethnic conflict and to facilitate the rehabilitation and resettlement of affected communities.
