CM Biren condoles the demise of Khollao Deben; AMWJU pays tribute

Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh condoles the demise of noted journalist Nongmaithem Deben Singh popularly known as Khollao Deben.
CM Biren, in a press release said, “I am deeply aggrieved to learn about the sad demise of veteran journalist Nongmaithem Deben Singh at his private residence, Keishampat, this morning. Popularly known as Khollao Deben, he had served as a noted journalist in different newspapers in different capacities during his career spanning around four decades since the 1970s. He was also one of the founding members of the All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) and Manipur Press Club. Till his last breath, he worked tirelessly for the cause of the media fraternity. In his death, our State and the media fraternity lost an upright journalist. I deeply condole his demise and share grief with the bereaved family. May the Almighty give them the strength to withstand this loss.”
Meanwhile, members of the All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) paid their last tribute to the veteran journalist at the premises of Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul. It may be mentioned that Khollao Deben was one of the founding members of the AMWJU and Manipur Press Club and worked for the welfare of the media in Manipur.
