On the ongoing Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign (SHS) 2024, a nationwide initiative aimed at reinforcing the commitment to cleanliness and hygiene, various departments took up various cleanliness drive today at different places in Senapati district.
As part of the SHS 2024, a cleanliness drive was conducted today by the department of District Youth Affairs and Sport, Senapati in collaboration with SDOAM, DSA, SDBA, SDWA, and Basket Association & Athletic Association at various sports complexes in Senapati such as Sanyi Dahrii Sporting Complex, Senapati Astro Turf, Multipurpose Hall and Mini Stadium. Besides, the cleanliness drive also carried out at various schools under Autonomous District Council, Senapati.
Also, activities under the Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign (SHS) 2024 continued even today in Kakching district. Cleanliness drive cum awareness program was carried out by the officials of Kakching Municipal Council in Ward No. 5, Ward No. 6 and Ward No. 7.
It may be mentioned that a cleanliness drive cum awareness program was conducted by the KMC officials at the Kakching Ward No.1, Ward No. 2, Ward No.3 and Ward No. 4 yesterday. As part of the program, plantation drive was also conducted by the officials and an awareness program was held where KMC officials made the public of the Ward No.1 to 4 aware regarding the correct way of disposal of the garbage and how improper disposal of garbage pose health hazards and the environment pollution threat to the humans.
KMC officials will continue with their series of activities under SHS 2024 till October 2, 2024 in the district.
As part of the SHS campaign 2024, series of activities were undertaken in Thoubal. A cleanliness drive was conducted by Thoubal Municipal Council officials and staffs at the historical monument site of Anglo Manipur War at Thoubal Athokpam.
At Gram Panchayat level also, various CD Blocks conducted cleanliness drive in many localities of the District. Earlier, cleanliness drive was conducted by PHED Thoubal Division as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.
SHS 2024 was officially launched on September 17, 2024 in the State marking a decade of significant cleanliness efforts across India under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM). This year’s theme ‘Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskar Swachhata’-‘Clean personal values and clean cultural practices’ facilitated large scale advocacy and citizen participation for Swachhta, mega cleanliness drives and clearing of dirty and difficulty garbage spots, recognize the contribution of sanitation, celebrate the achievement of the past decade and re- affirm our commitment to the future of sanitation and sustainable waste management in the country.
