LAMKA,Aug 02: Churachandpur-Imphal Taxi Owner’s Society (CITOS) strongly reacted to the news report of kidnapping attempt of one B. Dhanabir Sharma terming it as a concocted story.
In a press statement the society said contrary to the news report appeared on August 1 issue of Imphal base daily newspaper, it was the secretary of the Bus Owners’ Association, B. Dhanabir Sharma who called up the president of CITOS at such a very late timing of about 9:00 PM for an urgent meeting at Keishampat, Imphal. The statement said that president of the society Lunkholal Haokip responded positively and turned up to the place where the JACs secretary informed him to meet on the night of August 30.
The society said that as the CITO president was suspicious of some foul play from his caller to go at a place where he was not fully acquainted, he went with some friends. It further added that B. Dhanabir Sharma made a call to the police commandos when CITOS president and friends reached for meeting. The later surrounded and arrested him with his friends by the police team.
“In fact, the JAC Secretary of the Bus Owner’s Association B. Dhanabir Sharma is notorious for creating a big problems to Taxi winger services while conveying passengers between Churachandpur to Imphal and Imphal to Churachandpur with a malicious intention to disturb the viehicle services in the line he used police commando by paying a hug sum of money,” the CITOS statement charged.
