Chinglemba Wahengbam elected as new Chief of Meitei Leepun

Chinglemba Wahengbam has been elected as the new Chief of Meitei Leepun, following the retirement of the organization’s former chief Mayengbam Pramot Chand Singh on health grounds.
According to a statement from the organization, the selection was made in line with the traditional procedures and customs of Meitei Leepul. Along with the appointment of the new chief, Heisnam Shilan has been designated as the Meitei Leepun Thouburel (Deputy Chief).
The organization stated that the leadership transition marks a continuation of its long-standing tradition of orderly succession and collective decision-making.
