Chief Minister visits injured Kangpokpi ambush victims; Condemns ‘dastardly terror act’

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today visited injured victims of the deadly ambush between Kotzim and Kotlen villages in Kangpokpi district at Shija Hospitals and Research Institute and strongly condemned the attack that claimed the lives of three civilians, all reported to be church leaders.
According to hospital sources, three injured persons were rushed to Shija Hospital for treatment following the ambush carried out by armed miscreants earlier in the day.
The Chief Minister, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, MLAs and senior officials, enquired about the condition of the injured and assured that the state government would bear all medical expenses and ensure the best possible treatment.
Condemning the attack as a “dastardly terror act,” the Chief Minister stated that violence targeting innocent civilians has no place in a civilised society and warned that such acts threaten ongoing efforts to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
He appealed to all communities to maintain restraint and refrain from acts of retaliation, abduction, intimidation, and communal provocation, stating that such actions would only worsen the situation.
Meanwhile, Nemcha Kipgen also condemned the ambush, describing it as a “cruel and heartbreaking act of violence” and expressed grief over the killing of church leaders returning from a religious gathering in Churachandpur district.
