Chief Minister shows serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of Mount Koubru

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today expressed serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of Mount Koubru. Speaking during a meeting with the Forest Minister and other officials of the department conducted at CM Darbar Hall today, the Chief Minister said that he feels like crying in seeing the conditions of Mount Koubru which is a reserve forest area.
“No trees are seen and even the roots have been uprooted in the Mount Koubru range”, N. Biren Singh said. He added that we human beings are the worst enemy of nature . He also blamed the government employees, particularly those in the Revenue and Forest departments. He said none of the government employees rendered their duty with sincerity.
He said that illegal encroachers were provided fake Patta in wetland and other forest areas of the state. Those illegal encroachers have been using pesticides and other chemicals to the lakes and forest areas which later cause severe diseases to the man kinds.
