Chandel people stage protest demonstration demanding clearance of compensation for flood and landslide victims

Flood victims demand committee, Chandel district today organised a mass sit-in-protest at Chandel district Headquarters in protest against the indifferent attitude shown by the state government towards 2015 landslide and flood victims by not releasing their relief money.
Large numbers of protesters including women took also stages a protest demonstration at Chandel district Head Quarter. This is the second time that the people of Chandel has been staging protest demonstration against the government failure t provide compensation to the flood and landslide victims of the district which even kills over 10 people including women and children.
Speaking to reporters a protester said that the agitation was organized in protest against non-payment of relief/compensation to the landslide and flood affected victims of 2015.
Even though the Central government had released the relief fund, the victims of natural calamities from this district did not receive the relief fund/compensation till date as the state government has failed to release it, he added.
Demanding the early disbursement of the relief fund, the protestor also warned that the people of this district will launch a series of intense agitations if the state government fails to release the said relief fund within 10 days.
