The Chandel District indefinite bandh called by the Tribal Blind Association of Chandel District was suspended temporarily following a meeting with Chandel MLA ST. Nunghlung Victor this afternoon.
The bandh was suspended following the representatives of the Association led by its Secretary, K. Pareng Kom and Chandel MLA held a meeting at Pallel Police Station at which the MLA assured to put up the grievances of the Association to the Chief Minister and also to arrange a meeting with the Chief Minister on or before the forth coming Assembly session.
While informing the media persons, Pareng Kom said that the indefinite bandh was temporarily suspended as Chandel MLA assured us to apprise the Chief Minister about our grievances and to take appointment for a meeting with the Chief Minister before the coming Assembly Session. However, the indefinite bandh will be resumed if the MLA fails to provide a written assurance from the Chief Minister to hold talk with the Association’s representative by this evening, added Kom.
It may be mentioned that the Tribal Blind Association, Chandel has imposed 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Indefinite Chandel District bandh since yesterday in protest against the indifferent attitude of State Government to provide the Mission Blind School of Heikakpokpi, a government’s full-fledged school and other necessary assistance.
