A Chakouba for people displaced by the May 3, 2023 crisis and currently staying in various relief camps across Kakching district was organised today by Nahasing gi Khongthang, Kakching.
Speaking at the occasion, Superintendent of Police, Kakching Priyadarshini Laishram said that many families were forced to flee their homes in the aftermath of the crisis and have since taken refuge in different parts of Manipur. She said the government continues to work for the welfare and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) while maintaining security in affected areas through the deployment of police and central forces to ensure peace and normalcy.
The gathering was also attended by Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association President Y. Rajendra, Rana Medicos Proprietor W. Ranabati, Zam-Zam Foundation Chairman Md. Alauddin, and Nahasing gi Khongthang President Rabi Mayanglambam.
