Imphal, Sept 27: Chief Election Officer, Manipur today directed the state government for removal of the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West T. Ranjit before the commencement of the 11 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election at the earliest time. Reason for the directives is not known however, it is speculated that many political parties had complaint to the Election Commission of India regarding his close affinity with the ruling congress. Moreover, source said that the government of Manipur had written letters to the ECI not to displace T Ranjit from where he has been taking charge as the Deputy commissioner of Imphal West.
