Campaign to remove ‘war criminal tag’ from Subhas Chandra Bose’ begins

A talk programme on “War criminal Tag of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in all International organisations including Commonwealth of Nations and United Nations” was held today at Manipur Press Club. The programme was attended by Biswadeep Gupta, President, Assam and Northeastern states of the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, Yumnam Rajeshwor Singh, Vice-President of 2nd World War Imphal Campaign Foundation, Ph. Ibomcha Singh, Retd. GM(E/M) NEEPCO and Chayan Bhattarcharje, Chief Editor of Ishan Bangla and KRC Time. The talk program was co-organised by Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahashaba and Knowledge Resource Centre (KRC) Foundation.
Speaking on the sideline of the programme, Biswadeep Gupta informed that a Signature campaign demanding the removal of War criminal tag from Netaji Subash Chandra Bose’s name from all International organizations including the Commonwealth of Nations and United Nations will be kick-started tomorrow at INA Hall, Moirang. The signature campaign will continue for a year, till 23rd January 2024 and the collected signatures will be submitted to the Indian Government and other related International organizations.
It may be mentioned that the British had included Netaji’s name in the UN’s list of Indian war criminals for fighting against them during World War II. The first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had referred Netaji Subas Chandra Bose as a war criminal in his correspondence with the then British Prime Minister Clement Atlee, soon after Netaji’s disappearance in 1945.
