Cable car soon between Sendra and Chaoba Ching

Manipur will have the first cable cars from Sendra to Chaoba Ching in Bishnupur district on experimental basis.  The mode of implementation will be on PPP model at which Government of India will have 25% share, State government 15% share while the private partner will bear 60 percent share. This was stated by the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh while moving the Manipur Ropeways Bill 2015.
The Chief Minister said that government is planning to introduce the cable car from Sendra to Chaoba Ching for the first phase and later for the second phase the government is planning to introduce it from Chaoba Ching to Karang.
The Chief Minister further said that the guideline for monitoring and implementation of the project will come after the passing of the bill. This was stated as a reply to MLA I Ibohalbi who had objected it on the ground that it did not have proper provision for licensing authority.
The motive behind the passing of the bill is to promote tourism industry in the state besides providing proper transportation facilities to the people of Karang, said Chief Minister. He said that if this model works than the state government will take up various similar project at other part of the state to boost tourism industry.
