Bunglon celebrates post paddy plantation with Buonsilthak Kut

Bunglon, July 25: Buonsilthak Kut – a post paddy plantation festival was celebrated with much enthusiasm and fun fare at Bunglon Community Hall in Churachandpur District of Manipur today. The festival is celebrated to give thanks to Almighty for the bountiful blessings and praying for a richer harvest. The festival, which is organized by the Bunglon Farmers’ Association is the only kind in Manipur which has been celebrated since 2003. Gracing the celebration as Chief Guest, Thangneo Lhungdim, Chief of P Gelmol, who is also the Secretary of Thangting Area Chief Association exhorted the famers to worker hardier for a richer harvest. He said that one must devote his time with dignity of labour to reap a better harvest. Agriculture being one of the oldest profession since time immemorial, he exhorted the farmers to give their best for a fruitful production at the end of the year. Saying that everyone is depending on the success of agriculture for livelihood, Thangneo Lhungdim encouraged the farmers to work sincerely and with devotion to the profession. The village community hall was packed to capacity as the villagers rejoice in marking the completion of planting of paddy. Veteran Gangte artist Mrs Chongmawi of ‘Gangte Ka Hi’ fame, the young and budding crooner Paominsei and Seivangzom too rent the air with their enchanting voice enthralling the public. It was indeed the best time for the villagers to have seen the green and marvelous growing of paddy in their own fields.
