The 4th Book Fair on Book Promotion Activities organized by Mayai Lambi Integrated Development Organisation, Shamurou in collaboration with National Book Trust, India, New Delhi has been concluded on Tuesday.
Altogether eleven book firms including one publisher from outside the state participated at the fair, according to a release by H Temba Singh, Secretary of Mayai Lambi Integrated Development Organisation.
The formal closing function was held with Thounaojam Mangi Leima, Chairperson, Shamurou Nagar Panchayat and Dr Th Khomdon Singh, Librarian, Manipur University as Chief Guest and president respectively.
Mangi Leima in her speech thanked the organizers in conducted the knowledge upgradation and education oriented fair for the first time in Mayai Lambi area.
While elaborating the importance of books in personal and social development in the modern world, Dr Khomdon in his speech said that such a fair could enhance the reading habit and library movement not only in Mayai Lambi but whole of the state.
