Miscreants suspected to be cadres of armed rebel group KCP (Noyon group) today placed a hand grenade to the residence of Gurumayum Tharaksana Devi (61 yrs) W/O G. Bidyashor Sharma of Brahmapur Bhaigapati Leikai under PS Porompat Dist Imphal East. Police source said that they received the report at around 6 am today morning and also identified the grenade to be Chinese made. The Porompat Police team picked up the bomb.
Gurumayum Tharaksana Devi was a onetime Manager in the Imphal Urban Co-operative Bank. Police suspects the reason for placing of the bomb to have been related with monetary demand.
