“Black art” in Panchayat Poll erupt violence at Kakching district; 2 Police injured, 3 vehicles vandalised

Kakching, Sept 18: Violence erupted at Sora in Kakching district after police team who were rescuing a woman held as captive by workers of one of the Zilla Parishad candidate for allegedly playing “black art” to sabotage the candidate.
Report reaching here said that when the police team were taking out the woman from the custody, a large number of people gather and stopped them from taking the lady.
At least 2 police personnel were injured as the mob turn violent and attack the team and three police Gypsy vehicles were also vandalised. The incident happened at around 11 pm yesterday.
Report reaching here said that yesterday evening large number of supporters of Zilla Parishad candidate for Pallel Constituency Najimudin organised a poll campaign at Sora area. Among the supporters a woman identified as Souda Bibi (38) W/o Jakir of Irong in Kakching District was notice in a suspicious was and the supporter held her as captive and started questioning.
As the report reached to police a team led by SDPO Kakching Th. Deshworjit rushed the site and after convincing the owner of the house where she was held as captive brought her along with them.
However, larger number of people gathered and tried to stop the police from taking her with them. The police tried to console them but the situation turn hostile as the people gathered turn violent.
Later, police team fire tear gas shell and charge the mob to rescue the woman.
