Combined team of Imphal West district police and 25 AR had arrested 3 cadres of armed group KCP (Kanba group) at around 2 pm from Uripok Khoisnam Leikai yesterday. Among the three cadres arrested one turn out to be the Secretary of the Sports Cell of BJP. He is identified as Bramhacharimayum Rajmani @ Khanba of Uripok Khaidem Leikai. The two cadres arrested are identified as Khundrakpam Kanba @ khelchandra (45) son of Shyamkeso of Taothong Khunou Lamshang and Hanjabam Dineshor @ Dinesh of Brahmapur Thangapat Mapal.
Police source said that 2 pistols along with 3 live rounds and 2 mobile handsets were recovered from their possession.
The arrested persons have been remanded in police custody after producing to the district magistrate for further investigation.
