Birds recovered, nets confiscated

Volunteers of Joint co-ordination committee on wildlife and Biodiversity (JCCWB) Manipur- a joint team of Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Committee (WBCC) and Unique Wildlife Protection Committee (UWLPC) confiscated 16 nets and rescued 1 live and 7 dead birds from the Ikopat and Leishangthem Khong area of Thoubal District. According to a press statement issued by Convenor Romes Ningthoujam, the raid was conducted after receiving reports of illegal poaching from a reliable source and the volunteers rushed to the spot at around 3 am under the supervision of Thoubal SP Dr S. Ibomcha and Ningombam police out post SI O. Rabikanta.
