Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) has shown serious concern about the restriction of entry of a community to the places inhabited by a community.
The MMWO is referring to the barrier created between the Kuki and the Meitei to their respective areas due to the ongoing crisis.
“Manipur is a home of different communities and has been inhabited for years in peace and harmony”, the MMWO said. Reacting to the inaction of both the center and the state government to the rising separation the MMWO said that both the center and the state government should immediately deal with the issue to restore peace and normalcy.
The MMWO further said that even though the Meitei and some other communities could not buy and settle in hill areas people belonging to all communities were allowed to buy and settle and valley areas of the state. Saying so the land bought and settled are all government land and it is important for all people of Manipur to live united. MMWO said that the ongoing crisis in the state may have been orchestrated by people either from outside the state or from inside the state who aimed to distort the idea of Manipur becoming a strong state in the Himalayan region.
