ATWO warns to close down Chandel’s District Headquarters road if not complete within February

All Tribal Women’s Organisation (ATWO) Chandel District urge for speedy repairing of District Headquarters road and warn to close down the road indefinitely if the concern authority fails to complete it within February.
Speaking to media persons, Lalam Mate President of All Tribal Women’s Organisation told that the repairing work of Chandel District Head Quarters Road from Pallel was taken up after several civil organizations raising hue and cry for the repairing it.
But, the contractors left major portions of the road unrepaired after repairing only some portions of the road stretch and did not complete it till date, she added.
As such, the deplorable road conditions caused a lot of inconveniences to the commuters particularly women and the dust storm also posed serious health hazards to the villagers residing along the road.
Moreover, traffic accidents also occurred frequently along the road due to the bad condition of the road, said Lalam Mate.
While drawing the attention of all the lawful and unlawful authorities for maintaining quality in the ongoing repairing work, ATWO’s President also urged to investigate whether the sanctioned amount for repairing the road is being properly utilized or misused.
Further, Mate wonder why high ranking government officers, MLA’s and Ministers of the State Government who passes through the dusty deplorable road of the District Headquarters remained a mute.
Is it because the MLA’s and Ministers were receiving a bribe or percentage from the sanctioned amount of the road repairing or is they just enjoyed the bumping rides through the dusty road by their luxury vehicles, She questioned.
Questioning the reason for halting the repairing work, the Women’s President also warned to close down the road stretch indefinitely if the concern contractor fails to complete the repairing work within the current month.
And she also appealed all the general public of the District to extend support and co-operation in lobbying for maintaining quality and early completion of the road.
