Assam Rifles seize contraband items worth Rs 7.2 crore

Troops of Assam Rifles under IGAR (South) apprehended two drug peddlers and recovered Brown Sugar and WY tablets at Khudengthabi Check-Post in Tengnoupal District.

On the evening of 02 October, based on a specific intelligence, a Silver colour Eeco Van bearing registration number DL 04 AS 4404 driven by JamminlianVaipheu, of Launching village was stopped for questioning at Khudengthabi Check-Post. After a thorough search of the vehicle, Brown Sugar weighing approximately 3.336 Kgs along with 20000 WY tablets worth more than Rs 7.2 crores were recovered. The Apprehendees along with the recovered items have been handed over to appropriate authorities for further investigation.
