Assam Rifles organises Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” at Girls High School, Oinam on 14 May.  
With an aim to sensitise the local populace about the importance of clean and healthy environment Nambol Company Operating Base (COB) organised an awareness campaign on “Swachh Bharat Mission” which witnessed an attendance of over 150 students and locals.
As a part of the campaign, an interactive lecture on “Swachh Bharat Mission” was conducted by the COB followed by a cleanliness drive by the students in the area of Oinam village. In addition, an awareness rally was also organised by the students urging the locals to maintain clean and green environment. During the event students were also enlightened on the importance of health in modern lifestyle era alongwith discussion on obesity, diabetes and various heart related diseases including their related preventive measures. The event concluded with tea and refreshment for all the attendees.   
The school staff, students and locals expressed profound gratitude to Assam Rifles for sustained efforts to sensitise the masses on such an important issue of healthy and clean environment. They further requested to organise such events in future as well for the benefit of students and the society.
