Chassad Batallion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) is organising a medical camp at Kamjong Public Ground, Kamjong district on 07 and 08 December 2018. The programme is part of the larger OP SADBHAVANA initiative. On the first day of the camp, close to 500 locals including children were treated by the team of doctors for various ailments and free medicines were distributed to all.

The aim of this initiative is to provide free medical treatment and consultation to the remote villages of Kamjong district where requisite medical facilities are yet not available due to poor road infrastructure along the Indo Myanmar Border (IMB).  An awareness workshop was also organised on the sidelines of the medical camp to educate the locals on various life style diseases such as High BP, diabetes etc. Apart from providing necessary medical assistance, basic know how on health education, hygiene and sanitation was also imparted.

The village Headmen and villagers  appreciated the initiative taken by the Assam Rifles  and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the medical camp at their doorstep. Such camps, if organized regularly, will go a long way in bringing the people of Manipur and Assam Rifles closer for    sustained peace and prosperity in Manipur.
