Assam Rifles conducts drug deaddiction drive, encourages school Children

In continuation of de-addiction drive undertaken by Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles, the medical officer along with team carried out check up and provided medicine at Rehab Hope Centre, Moriah Lhangtheng, Ward no 2, Moreh.

A total of 41 inmates attended the medical camp during which they were educated on the benefits of drug free life and critical withdrawal symptoms associated with drug addiction. Inmates were provided counselling and provided medicines free of cost to alleviate their agony including the replenishment of earlier installed first aid box.

The regular medical camps from Moreh Battalion have ensured significant improvement among patients. The ongoing efforts to have a drug free environment have resulted in phenomenal recovery as per the chairman. A pledge would be taken by all the inmates on upcoming World Health Day to curb this emerging drug menace in the society. The inmates expressed heartfelt gratitude and thanked Assam Rifles for this unique initiative.

On the other hand, Shangshak Battalion under the aegis of HQ 10 Sector, IGAR (S) distributed various sports equipment to St. Paul School at Ramva (Shakpao) on 30 March 2019. The sports equipment included Football, Volleyball, Cricket kit and Carrom board for the children of the school. The sports equipment was aimed to channelise the energy of the children in positive direction and contribute in nurturing the sport talent in the village. The sports items were received with heartfelt gratitude and the school and the villagers conveyed their sincere appreciation for the initiative taken by the battalion.
