Imphal, Feb 14:

The All Manipur Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) Workers’ Union held a meeting at Irabot Bhawan, Imphal, presided over by Union President Thiyam Purnimashi Devi, to address the grievances of ASHA workers and demand their rightful benefits.
In a statement issued by Publicity Secretary Th. Bembem Devi, the Union asserted that ASHA workers continue to face delayed payments and lack of job security, despite their crucial role in the healthcare sector. The Union has 47 Executive Members, with 5-6 of them leading the movement to ensure that ASHA workers receive their dues.
The Union emphasized that the Honourable Court’s intervention is necessary to secure their rights. Many ASHA workers are still struggling due to non-payment of wages, making it difficult for them to sustain their livelihoods. Without timely payments, workers are unable to continue their responsibilities efficiently.
The Executive Committee, which includes a Vice-President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Publicity Secretary, and 40 other members, has reaffirmed its commitment to securing justice and fair compensation for ASHA workers.
