Army organizes medical camp at remote areas in Tml dist.

Troops of Red Shield Division organised medical camps in most remote places of Tamenglong district from 13 to 20 May 2016. Medical camps were organized on request of villagers. Medical team of TameiBattalion led by RMO walked six days from Dikuiram to Katangnam village and conducted medical camps in Magulong, New Impa, Inem, New Magulong and Katangnam villages. A total of 180 patients were examined and provided medical treatment for ailments like respiratory diseases, skin diseases, hypertension, gastrointestinal infection, worm infestations. Medicines and first aid kit were provided to patients and informed about preventive measures for various diseases.
It will be pertinent to mention here that the villages, where the medical camps were helds are an average of approximately 09 Km to 37 Km away from the nearest towns and the team had to walk a long distance in remote areas, along with all the supplies and other essentials, to go to the villages.  Many of the places have no mobile connectivity and only one primary health care centre available, at NewImpa, Inem.  The villagers said that it was like a very pleasant surprise for them and would be always eternally grateful to the Defence Forces for such a noble and humane gesture.  They also requested for organising of such extremely helpful and people friendly events in the rural areas in the future.
