Members of Arambai Tenggol have successfully dismantled a vehicle theft syndicate, apprehending four individuals and turning them over to Wangoi Police Station.
The operation was initiated following a surge in vehicle theft incidents in the region. Acting on a tip-off received late at night near Haoreibi Mayai Leikai, Arambai Tenggol members intercepted a suspected vehicle thief. Upon interrogation, the suspect disclosed information about an organized vehicle theft gang, leading to the arrest of three more members.
The individuals have been identified as Takhellambam Naoba alias Ranjan, son of Takhellambam Nimaichand Singh of Arapti Mamang Leikai, Nongthombam David alias Lukhoi alias Tanglei, son of Nongthombam Ken Singh of Urup Litan Makhong, Sherkhan Aribam, son of Kiyamuddin of Sangaiyumpham Part I Mairenkhun and Md Warish Khan, son of Md. Pishak of Sangaiyumpham Part I.
The four suspects were subsequently handed over to Wangoi Police Station for further legal proceedings.
