45th Assam Rifle distributed sport items to the football players of Koirangei Welfare Youth Club today. DIG Brigadier of Sector 9, Commandant of 45th Assam Rifle and president of Koirengei Welfare Youth Club, Lourembam Rajchandra attended the function as Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and President respectively. Various representatives local Meira Paibi, club members and other players were present on the sports items distribution programmed.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG recalled the spirit of Manipuri youths in the field sports. He said Assam Rifles has been playing vital role in promoting sports in the North Eastern states particularly in the state of Manipur for a long time and it will continue to do so in the future. Elaborating to the potentials of the young sports persons in the state, the DIG said that one day the young players of the state may represent the nation in international level. The state players had already brought laurels to the country by winning various medals and will continue to do so in the future if they are provided all kinds of supports.
