AMSU to observe 50th hunger marchers’ day on 27th August, 2015

A press meet was held today at All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) head office inside D.M. College campus for the upcoming 50th hunger marchers’ day to be observed on 27th of Aug. 2015 at Singjamei Chinga Pishum Imphal West. Manjit Sarangthem, General Secretary (AMSU) stated during the press meet that the people of the state cannot forget the incident which happened in the year 1965 in which 4 people including 3 students lost their lives during the firing by the police personnel of the Indian Government. In remembrance of the 4 martyred souls, AMSU will be observing the 50th Anniversary of hunger marchers’ day on 27th Aug. 2015 like every year at Singjamei Pishum Chinga, Imphal-West. General Secretary, AMSU appealed to all the people of Manipur, Students, friends and family, local clubs, Meira Paibis and different organisations to attend the function. He also appeal to all the organisations and clubs not to call any kind of bandh, general strike or curfews on this day which may create problem in carrying out the observation function.
