AR camp attacked

The Assam Rifles outpost at Lampong Sheanghah village about 15 Km away from district Head Quarter of Mon was attacked at wee-hour by suspected UGs early today morning. According to insider’s account, the attack happened at around 02:20 AM and the Assam Rifles quickly responded. The gun fight stayed for some reasonable minutes. According to unofficial source, one AR jawan who was on duty as sentry got injured and later shifted to Mon military base for urgent medical attention. No case of civilian casualties or lost of life and damage of public properties reported. No official report can be collected while filing this report.
Late input said that the attack was carried out cadres of the NSCN-K. 2 personnel of the 41 AR injured were identified as Major Sahil Sharma and Rifleman R N Modak. Their condition is out of danger.
