Imphal, April 20:

Governor of Manipur La. Ganesan stated that any infiltration or illegal immigration to the State should be checked and sent them back. On the second day of his two days visit to Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, Governor interacted with the villagers at a programme held at Town Hall of Kamjong District Headquarters today.
Governor said, infiltrators are deliberately trying to sneak into our territory from the Myanmar side mostly in the border areas. He said, as we are sharing a long border line with Myanmar, all should be vigilant enough to check such act and should inform authorities if such case arises. Being a border state, Government alone cannot stop such illegal activities without people’s co-operation. Governor appealed the people to co-operate Government in this regard.
Reiterating that the Centre and the State Governments are fully committed for all round development and to give maximum benefits to the people, La. Ganesan said, most of the development works are in the planning map. He said roads are being built and basic infrastructures will also be developed in Kamjong district. Any issues pertaining to development will be taken care of by the State Government and also will apprise to the Centre if necessary, he added. Governor urged the people to implement ABCD which means A for Aadhar enrolment, B for opening Bank Account, C for COVID-19 Vaccination and D for taking part in developmental activities.
Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keishing also attended the interaction programme and greeted the Governor for his visit to Kamjong District. Governor was accorded a warm welcome by the Deputy Commissioner R. Rang Peter, IAS, on his arrival at the district headquarters. Earlier Civil Society Organizations submitted Memorandum to the Governor and asked him to take prompt action concerning different issues.
