Anti Corruption cell says complainant cannot withdraw complaint lodge to the ACC

Imphal, May 23: OSD of the Anti Corruption Cell, Manipur, P Gojendro Singh has appealed the general public to file their complaints in the interest of the welfare of the state and not for personal gain. The appealed came in the aftermath of an incident at which a complainant approach the cell for withdrawal of the complaint lodge by him on the ground that the matter was settled on mutual understanding between the two parties. A press statement of the ACC Manipur stated that the Cell took up complaints not only to address the grievance of the Complainant but in the larger interest of the state to uproot corruption.
It further stated that once a complaint is lodge to the Cell, it was endorsed to the concern department for enquiry. Later the concern department submitted the report of their finding to the ACC. After receiving the report the matter was placed before the Screening Committee chaired by the Chief Secretary of Manipur for further comment.
